Each year, the application will close on the Friday of State Conference. THE APPLICATION FOR THE 2026-2027 JUDICIARY IS NOW OPEN AND WILL CLOSE ON FEBRUARY 12TH, 2026
Student Judges are mock trial officers, and as such, they are expected to attend judge trainings, both District Conferences, State Conference, and any other OKYAG mock trial events held during their term of appointment.
During their term of appointment, Student Judges are expected to be committed to their office. To ensure fairness and maintain their dedication, Student Judges are not eligible to participate on an OKYAG mock trial team.
Any current OKYAG delegate who meets the above qualifications may apply to serve as a Student Judge. Many of our current and past judges had minimal experience competing as attorneys.
Student Judges interested in running for Presiding Judge must go through the State Office candidacy process to campaign. Any Student Judge can run if they have served as a judge for at least one OKYAG State Conference (this can include the one held during the year they are running).
Select Student Judges will be permitted to apply to be NJC Student Chiefs. The selected judges will be announced at State Conference. A judge may also be invited by an NJC team to attend as an alternate if the team does not have enough members.
